Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actress, dancer and singer. Her first Broadway roles, she played in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. Her first Tony Award was given to Ashford for her role as Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh has been collaborating on projects with award-winning directors, actors, and producers throughout her professional career. Ashford is set to next appear alongside Kumail in Robert Siegel's exclusive Hulu series Welcome to Chippendales which premieres on November 22nd. Ashford is currently working on the film for Searchlight Pictures' terror thriller Dust which also features Sarah Paulson. It will also be available as an Hulu Original on Disney DTC. Ashford's Broadway return is scheduled to take place in the month of March 2023, when he is paired with Josh Groban for the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The group behind Hamilton producer Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail will be at control of the show. Ashford played Paula Jones, the main role in Ryan Murphy's latest FX show American Crime Story Impeachment. The show is based on the scandal that brought Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp as well as other main actors into the very first impeachment proceedings in America for more than a century. Ashford was a part of two seasons of hit CBS comedy B Positive. The show was created by Chuck Lorre with Marco Pennette. It featured Linda Lavin Sheryl Crow, Hector Elizondo as well as Ben Vereen.
